Jennifer Lucas O'Briant is a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife living in Columbia, SC. She is certified by The North American Registry of Midwives and licensed by the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control. She offers home birth services including prenatal and postpartum care for Columbia and South Carolina Midlands.

As ancient as time, as modern as today. Midwives have been with women for as long as they have been having babies. South Carolina also has a long history of midwives tending to women. Here in our state you have your choice of birth providers: MD, CNM, or CPM; and choice of birth locale: Hospital, Birth Center, or Home. Many healthy women choose to have a midwife-attended birth in their own home. These women receive excellent prenatal care from a Licensed Midwife in consultation with a physician, and are assessed and monitored by their health-provider team to ensure they are a good candidate. Safety of mother and baby is always paramount. CPMs are the experts in out-of-hospital birth. Contact us today to begin to see if waterbirth or homebirth is right for you.
